The aim is to establish an international and interdisciplinary network to strengthen the practical skills of future conservators and monument conservators.
Organisational structures for this network are to be developed in cooperation with various stakeholders from research institutions, educational establishments, industry, owners of historic buildings and their administrations. The professional and cultural exchange will create an international dynamic which, in addition to qualifying the next generation of experts, will also contribute to the preservation and visualisation of historic buildings in the region.
Students are given the opportunity to test their theoretical knowledge on cultural assets and to expand their practical experience, whereby quality assurance is ensured by the co-operation of various departments.
‘preserve4future’ is a research project of the pilot project ‘Vogtlandpioniere’, which is coordinated by the industrial research institution INNOVENT e.V. and funded as part of the ‘WIR! - Wandel durch Innovation in der Region’ programme of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research. The aim of the funding programme is to strengthen the innovative capacity within structurally weak regions in order to secure long-term value creation and employment there.
